Hwang Yoo-min, Yoo Hyun-jo, Noh Seung-hee, Madasom, Kim Su-ji and Bae So-hyun. Strong players in the Korean Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLGA) are challenging themselves for the U.S. Women's Open (total prize money of 12 million U.S. dollars), a major competition in the U.S. Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour.
Six players who have won the KLPGA Tour, including Hwang Yoo-min and Bae So-hyun, have been listed as participants in the U.S. Women's Open to be held in Erin Hills (par 72) in Erin, Wisconsin, starting on the 29th (Korea Standard Time).
It is unusual for six players to participate in the U.S. Women's Open during the KLPGA tour season. Three players Park Min-ji, Lee Da-yeon, and Lee So-mi participated in the event in 2023, and three players Kim Min-byul, Kim Su-ji, and Park Hyun-kyung also participated last year. Of the six participants in this year's U.S. Women's Open, four except Kim Soo-ji and Hwang Yoo-min are participating in a major overseas competition for the first time.
A large number of KLPGA Tour players are trying to challenge the U.S. Women's Open thanks to the effect of applying the new regulations.
In April, the KLPGA Tour revised the regulation to give the same target point as a domestic major tournament if a KLPGA Tour active player participates in the JLPGA Tour or the Japan Ladies Professional Golf Association (JLPGA) Tour major tournament held overseas and achieves a top grade (within the top 10).
Previously, overseas tour competitions held at the same time as domestic tours were restricted from participating. When an overseas tour and a KLPGA major tour are held at the same time, players must first participate in a KLPGA major tour, and even if an overseas tour is held in Korea, they must follow a separate regulation of official approval. Violation of the rule was followed by disciplinary action.
After applying the new rules, Park Hyun-kyung participated in the World Ladies Championship Salonpas Cup in Japan earlier this month and tied for eighth place, earning 38 points, the same as the eighth-ranked point in a major tournament in Korea.
Park Hyun-kyung said, "It meant a lot just to participate in overseas major competitions on behalf of Korea, but I'm very happy to get the grand prize points with good results," adding, "I'll continue to repay my fans with more advanced performances by building my skills on various stages."
The U.S. Women's Open has many special relationships with Korean players. Pak Se-ri won the trophy with her "barefoot fighting spirit" in 1998, followed by Park In-bee (2008, 2013), Ji Eun-hee (2009), Ryu So-yeon (2011), Choi Na-yeon (2012), Jeon In-ji (2015), Park Sung-hyun (2017), Lee Jung-eun (2019) and Kim A-rim (2020). Ryu So-yeon, Jeon In-ji, and Kim A-rim won the U.S. Women's Open as non-members during their KLPGA tour activities and received a direct ticket to the LPGA Tour.
The recent two-year KLPGA player's report card at the U.S. Women's Open was also good. She tied for 13th at Park Min-ji, 33rd at Lee So-mi, and 53rd at Lee Da-yeon in the 2023 event, and tied for 26th at Kim Min-byul, 29th at Kim Su-ji, and 39th at last year's event, all of which advanced to the finals. Another point to watch is whether the fourth Cinderella will be born this year. 바카라사이트

"With the goal of passing the preliminary round first, I will confidently play through what I have prepared so far."
